Not sure how to spend your time on Long Island during the winter?  Once the holidays run out at this time of year the weekend events begin to wane, but all that changes once Long Island Winterfest: Live On The Vine arrives.  Created by the the Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau,  Long Island Wine Council and as a project of Jim Faith Productions for East End Arts, this collection of events brings out the best of East End wine and live entertainment.  This marks the 9th year of the event series with 90+ wine events including over 50 musical performances.

The Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission will once again welcome  Tough Mudder -the premier obstacle course challenge designed to test physical & mental strength- for  its second return to Old Bethpage, NY in 2016. With two events planned for the weekend of July 23, 2016 the Sunday event, Tough Mudder Half will debut for the first time in New York with a five-mile course and at least a dozen signature Tough Mudder obstacles. The shorter format event will not include more daunting obstacles with Fire, Ice and Electricity the full Tough Mudder event is known for, instead focusing on obstacles that require teamwork and less training. The Long Island Doctor Who Convention is back for its third, record breaking year! L.I. Who, which has grown out of its original venue and in to a new home at the Hyatt Regency in Hauppauge, is running this November 13th, 14th, and 15th. Once again we have an extensive guest list highlighted by Doctor Who celebrities from the show’s full 52 year history. This year we expect to have nearly 2,000 attendees, almost double our previous attendance. Last year attendees traveled from 48 of the 50 United States and many foreign countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Pakistan.

RIVERHEAD, NY – For the third straight year, visitors to Long Island’s Wine Country will be able to tour the region without a car.  The Long Island Wine Council is once again organizing a two day promotion on consecutive Saturdays, November 7 and 14, called Taste North Fork, which includes special tastings, events, discounts and live music at the wineries.
