Long Island welcomes the wildly-fun ‘Divas Half-Marathon’ back to Long Island Oct. 4th, 2015. And it sounds like one fabulous event! WEATHER UPDATE: Diva planners expect the race to go on as planned but check the website if the weather turns at www.runlikeadiva.com/Events/Long_Island__NY.htm or www.facebook.com/RUNLIKEADIVA?fref=ts. “Diva stations” will be placed throughout the courses with DJs providing music and entertainment for runners, and a post-race dance party located at the finish line. Divas will receive special fit tech shirts, tutus, and boas and tiaras just before they cross the finish line. Bubbly will also be served in order to celebrate the occasion, and the city’s hunks will crown each finisher with a “blinged-out” tiara medal.

Get all the information here: www.discoverlongisland.com/suffolkmarathon Residents of Suffolk County and more, with over 1,600 registered runners from all around, are ready to get stepping with the first ever Suffolk County Marathon!  The event takes place on September 13th, planned in conjunction with Suffolk County Veterans Services and a collection of other community organizations, with the proceeds gathered going to benefit veteran services in our county.  Split in to two lengths, the full and half marathons, the path of the run makes its way through the scenic towns along the stunning Great South Bay.  After crossing the finish line stick around for the Taste of Long Island Festival, where Suffolk County’s finest food and drink will be waiting for you (Runners get in free!)
